R/Me strategy vs. R/Mo strategy - Guild Wars Forums

ok, i was wondering what to change my secondary class to after i ascended, and was thinking of two classes and two strategies and how they would compete against eachother

on one side, there is an R/Me tank that uses Greater Conflagaration, Winter, and then Mantra of Ice(or cold dont know which) just to take as little damage as possible.

on the otherside, there is a R/Mo damage dealer who uses Judge's Insight to deal holy damage and armor penetration, with Penetrating Attack.

i was wondering first if the Holy damage would be overruled by the GC and Winter rituals and if the armor penetration from Judge's Insight and Penetrating Attack would stack.

please post any thoughts, or facts, that you have cause it would help me greatly.

Judges and penetrating attack do stack. But being a ranger ur attribute points are run thin. So me personaly i would see which would have a better effect with minimal attribute points in it. and personal preference of what you like to do and how you like to play. tank or snipe. up to you

i was thinking (hope this is right)

for the tank, 11 wilderness + whatever mask of runes, 11 marks + whatever runes, and 10 inspiration magic

he uses gc, winter, mantra of ice, kindle arrows, penetrating attack, distracting shot, troll unguent, and rez signet

for the sniper, 10 marks + mask and whatever runes, 10 expertise + runes, 8 smiting, and 7 healing

he uses Barrage, Judge's Insight, symbol of wrath, whirling defense, throw dirt, healing breeze, and ressurect/restore life

i like being a tank and a sniper, and hoping to see any flaws in either build and/or which would win in a 1 on 1 battle or is best in pvp (im not a good decision maker :P)

For the tank i dont know about the energy consumption but rangers arnt built on energy. Each penetrating attack and what not is gonna cost u 10 energy of ur 32ish. If you have the skills and time then try them out. if you really wanna tank then go tank. same for sniper. more of personal choice and just playin with things
